2019 was our 25th Birthday - and we celebrated with a week-long party!!
This rally grew into a packed 7 day celebration that members enjoyed at Top Barn Farm above the River Severn near Worcester.
This & the perfect weather (& the organisers!) created a magnificent party atmosphere with stunning events, foods, outings, available every day.
We had a large marquee, superbly decorated for our celebration, open all week (& "open" all round every day to provide cooling shade for all who needed it) - & put hard to work for all the events & evening shows put on in it, as well as gentler quieter gatherings relaxing in between.
There were outings, an (almost) formal meal in a nearby golf club, our own Birthday Banquet in the marquee supplied by lovely outside caterers, quizzes & games for all who wanted them & a lot of members participated.
Utterly memorable was the way the organisers looked after every single member present. Perhaps the most striking event however was the Victorian Old Time music Hall (ralliers were invited to attend in costume if they so wished - & most did, producing a very elegant audience - amid much interest & laughter) & all the acts were put on by different bands of surprisingly theatrical volunteer ralliers in very varied costume. Much happiness & laughter.
The ever-popular boules tournament was held and an "eggstra" special tombola (there was an immediate rush to buy up all remaining "eggs" when the organisers announced no prizes would be drawn until all eggs were sold! In the end everyone wanted more eggs.)
A full colour magazine issue produced to mark the event was sent to all members - & the film of the Victorian evening has sold a lot of copies (for club funds) too!.
