Isle of Man rally September 2022
This rally that was originally planned before the covid outbreak finally took place in September 2022. The rally was for 2 weeks and 11 motorhomes and 21 members took part. Unfortunately several members were unable to attend due health issues since the original planned date, but we were joined by 2 members who stayed in accommodation on one of the campsites.
We stopped at 3 campsites around the island and all the sites were within walking distance of public transport. Several trips were planned using a local tour company with an excellent driver explaining the history of the island. Places visited included Douglas, Ramsey, St John's, Peel, Laxey, and the visitor centre at the sound overlooking the Calf of Man.
We took a trip on the Manx electric railway from Douglas to Laxey where we then boarded the mountain railway to climb Snaefell mountain.
On another day we took a steam train from Port Erin to Douglas.
All our thanks to the rally organisers for another excellent rally.
